WHAT'S HAPPENING IN SALLY'S WATERCOLOR CLASSES THIS SUMMER

WHATS HAPPENING IN SALLY’S CLASS IN JUNE?

Note:  Small Batiks on rice paper will continue into June if there is an interest as well as fish printing.

The main feature in June will be FISH PRINTING, Not real fish, but plastic molds, using watercolor, or India ink to print on rice paper.  Sharpie/Micron waterproof pens can also be used.  The pens will also be used to emblishs the eyes of the fish.  Anyone interested in real fish can schedule a private lesson.

Where: The Artist Nook every Thursday for a month

Cost:  $30 per class.  Pay each day you come to class, cash or ck.

What you need to bring:

1.  You're Watercolor paints and/or ink (I will have black India ink available) After you ink your    fish, you then color it with watercolor, waterproof sharpie pens or what ever you want.

2.  Your brushes, paper towels and your creative ideas

3.  Rice Paper, you can get at Stuart Art Supply. I use the rice     paper with the gold or silver threads. Plain is also available.  Buy what you will need to print 4 to 6 Fish Prints, plan on what size you will need.  If you plan on making Art Work mounted on canvas, buy that size.  If making place mats, buy that size.  And cut to fit.

These Rice Paper Fish Prints can be mounted on Canvas, Canvas Board, or watercolor paper or they can be made into Place Mats.

This Fish Print (from a real fish) got into Florida Watercolor Societies Member Show. This was mounted on watercolor paper and framed.

Plan on embelishing the prints after you finish them.

March and April were very busy months for me. But I'll try and catch up a little.

This is what I have been busy with:  My Student Teacher Art Show, Elliott Mueseum Preview Show for the Open Studio Tour, Martin Artisians Guild Open Studio Tour,  Down the Hall Show at the Elliott and my painting going into the Elliott Gift Shop as well as the Heathcote Botanical Gardens Gift Shop and to top it all off, I have 5 paintings in the the Fort Pierce Admin Building.  Plus, teaching 5 half days a week at the Artist Nook and my Home Studio in Port St. Lucie.

Now that most of the Snowbirds have return to the North, I should be

able to keep up with my blog.

We had a Student/Teacher Art Show at the Trinity Methodist Church in Jensen Beach in March.

Jane sold this painting.

Nancy sold one of hers, about this size of

blue flowers (no photo, sorry)

I try to have a Student/Teacher show every year

but  Covid got in the way.  Next year we will

probably have the show again at the Trinity

Methodist Church in Jensen Beach in March.

Last Thursday's Watercolor Class at The Artist Nook. We are working with wet into wet techniques. This is the hardest of all the techniques to learn. You have to work fast.

Diane Meiers Beautiful wet into wet sky, water and sand.  Nice Job.
Diane's beautiful wet into wet backgrund.
Nancy Bacheller Very nice! Where's the detail? (Nancy is an accomplished detail artist) Tune in next week and see if she added some detail.  Perhaps some larger trees in the front?
Joan O'Mally (Almost not a beginner anymore) Absolutely wonderful!
Holly Theuns (beginner) Could be feather dusters or Traingle Palms.  Nice Job and you are certainly using lots of color.  Love them.
Ann Rafe (beginner) Ann this is a really good start.  Can't wait to see how you finish it.
Ute Schwartz (beginner) This is Great I love it. One of your Best Ute
Holly trying to decide what to do with the second one.  She's working on the Majic Mat. You put

your painting under this plastic and use a china marker to see what you want to do.
